Construction Details:

The dress is in three parts: bodice, overskirt, and underskirt. Everything with the exception of the lace on the collar is dull satin. The bodice pattern was modified from the same one I used for Princess of the Crystal. The collar ended up being too wide, so I added lace trim around the neckline for some modesty. The overskirt is a five-panel skirt with a fake "bustle" attached. The underskirt is the thing that was a complete doozy! Over 200 yards of hand-ruffled satin went into it. I took a hoopskirt (minus hoops) that I found at Goodwill and cut it into strips, then added the rows of ruffles. Of course I ran out of hoopskirt fabric, so the last couple of rows were attached using lining fabric. Added a zipper to the back. The hat is the same one I use for regular Fionna.

Personal Thoughts:

This is another one of those outfits that I knew just *had* to be made! I love Natasha Allegri's formal designs for the AT girls (http://bit.ly/15cUyLq) (http://bit.ly/S8JFHI)! I combined the variations in Nat's art with colors that were brighter to match her cartoon coloration. This is something that took me six months to get to what I felt was a wearable state, and I am absolutely over-the-moon happy with it!
