About this Costume
Construction Details:
Well, I made this costume for a Hellsing group at Katsu, Anderson is pretty badass, and since so many other people have done the costume to be compared to, I wanted to make sure I did everything as well as possible. Researched Catholic priests' clerical shirts and made a fully accurate recreation complete with removable tab-collar, etc. because our group was primarily manga characters I used his manga character design (black outfit vs white) though I did use the anime color scheme for his coat trim. It seems physically impossible to make a coat which is open at the front, fitted at the waist and torso, and loose and flared at the bottom, without using some sort of ingenious array of wires and strings. oh well, at least its not a sack-tube...also, the swords were 'banned' by katsu as soon as I walked thru the doors, when I walked around without them I felt a bit silly when people would ask for a picture, then I happened across a bible...it wasn't much better, but at least I had something.

Also, the cross is way huge. I based the design off one pic I have that is a closeup, only to realize that his cross varies in size between freaking huge to normal, and unfortunately it is somewhere in the middle most of the time.
Personal Thoughts:
I was about to throw this costume in the scrap bin and say goodbye forever to it, but then Jason was all "hey you should rewear anderson when I do alucard"....I would like to redo aspects of this costume and rewear it. I was supposed to do so at this past Katsu (2012) with the aforementioned Mr Draco but ran out of time. :/
I hope to do so soon though, and hopefully will get to get some pics with his awesome alucard..I've got some better ideas for action shots and stuff than I did back in 2005, and looking at parts of the costume make me cringe.
