Construction Details:

The vest and pants are Cotton/Polyester. Used a template to put together the pants and vest. The only things that didn't have a template were the swirls on the pants and the feathers/scales on the shoulders. Those I free-handed a bit. The buttons were bought at Joaan Fabrics along with the fabric. The wings and feathers/scales are made out of felt. I made templates for them and once I sewed them together, I outlined the edges in the corresponding color sharpie. I attached the wings using safety pins for washing purposes since the sharpie would bleed onto the vest.rnrnThe horns were the hardest part of the cosplay. I wanted them to be attached without a head band. I found a method that worked from searching Homestuck horn tutorials. I used Polyurethane Expanding Foam for the middle which then I shaped into a general shape of the horns. I then wrapped that in aluminum foil and wrapped that in air dry paper clay. Before wrapping the horns in the clay, I got card stock and cut a hole to attach connecting screws and wires to attach the horns to the wig. I then used a plastic knitting pattern and cut it into the shape so I can connect the connecting screws on the inside of the wig to it. Anyways, once the clay dried, I painted them with acrylic paint.

Personal Thoughts:

My most favorite costume somewhat recently changed to Discord from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Why? Well, that costume was the hardest costume I ever made entirely! I made EVERYTHING in that costume except for the shoes and the black tank top I wear under my vest. I cried so many times while making this costume and even thought about quitting! But something inside me told me to keep going on and I'm glad I did! When that costume made it's debut in San Diego Comic-Con, people loved it! When I returned this year I also received even more attention! Especially from kids who actually did believe I was Discord. I got so much recognition for it and gained so much support for my cosplaying hobby since then from random strangers on the internet to my best friends and family! Discord definitely loomed over this project but I didn't let him discourage me! :)

Wig Review

This wig is an AWESOME wig! It has put up with so much! The horns were hard to make and I was constantly shoving the wig fibers to the side in order the screw in the horns. It also handled the dyeing process really well!
