Pretty much the exact same process as with my Neptune cosplay, just re-making most of the same things in different colors. Fortunately I was able to use what I learned from making Neptune to make sure Moon turned out a little better.
The crescent moons (one on the choker and one on each boot) are made from paper clay my roommate generously allowed me to use that was then sanded and spray-painted and glued into place. Unlike my Neptune tiara (which is made from brass), I made this tiara with aluminum flashing since that's what I was able to find. I got the Funtasma boots that I'm sure most Moon and Mercury cosplayers use. After being unable to get any white vinyl for the boot tops after several trips to JoAnn's I settled for a white satin with interfacing; I plan to re-make those with white vinyl after I finally obtain some. The brooch and odango gems were commissioned. - Personal Thoughts:
- Like many other people my age, I grew up with Sailor Moon and she was a huge part of my childhood. I'm a little surprised it took me so many years to finally cosplay her since she's kinda been a dream cosplay since I first discovered cosplay, but I'm glad I waited 'til I was more experienced with sewing to cosplay her.
