Construction Details:

I had planned to get a yard of fabric and that's it. All I would I need. Well, when I finally found a fabric I really liked I decided to line it to make sure it wouldn't be see-through. It was a nice semi-heavy fabric, but I still thought I'd be sure this time. So I got some matching yellow cotton for the lining. After sewing the base dress I realized that in the game her pockets are more orangey than yellow. So being the impatient person that I am, I cut the pockets from the same yellow fabric I made the dress from and dyed them. It worked out really well since the pockets are the same fabric now, they match the dress perfectly. I sculpted the zipper pull out of sculpey clay and painted it with metallic silver paint, then super glued it onto the normal zipper pull. I made the same design, but smaller, for the pendant on her necklace. After thinking the dress was done for several days, I realized that I forgot the white tag on the back of her dress. So I cut a square piece of cotton fabric and sewed it on. Then I painted the M X that's on the tag on the figure of Selphie. It also has some little scribbles under M X that's too tiny to read, or probably really spell anything for that matter. So I made up something and painted 'Trabia Gardens custom'. After all that I decided I might as well redo the boots too, so I got real belts from the kids department and painted them tan, then cut belt loops into the boots and strung them through. And for the final touch I cut and sewed a new blue wrist tie. I used leftover stretch denim from my Spike cosplay so the band stretches a little, which is really nice.
The Flail nunchucks were made from two squared dowel rods and a big plastic chain. But I plan to replace the chain because it breaks apart way too easily. A smaller metal chain is connected on one end. The dowel rods were painted with spray paint and acrylic paint, then sealed with mod podge.

Personal Thoughts:

I've always wanted to remake my Selphie cosplay and finally I have! I love cosplaying Selphie, she's such a cute and upbeat character! <3 When I started to remake this cosplay I thought it was going to be a simple and cheap thing to do. Just a mini dress right? Nope. You'll learn why in the construction details.
