About this Costume

Let's see, the shoulder pads were made out of wonderflex. We first made a mold out of paper-mache and molded the wonderflex over it to get the shape we wanted. The light blue "lip" around the edges is paper clay. Both were painted and sprayed with a matte finish. Also, the jewels were make out of plastic Christmas ornaments that we spray painted red and green. The gold detail around the jewels is craft foam that was glued on with E-6000. No joke, either. E-6000 was about the only thing that actually stick to the wonderflex.
The actually costume was made with a red-ish, magenta knit. We made the top and added the gray "lining" after much practice and brainstorming. It was SUPER hard getting it straight and getting it to look right. Also, the bootcovers were made out of the same gray knit. It was our first time making bootcovers, but they came out surprisingly nice.
