Is 24 years old too old to start a cosplay career?

Post by Seruki » Thu Feb 04, 2016 11:16 am

I mean, I would have cosplayed when I was younger but... cosplaying is super expensive. I have taught myself how to sew for cosplaying and also to sell my work on Etsy.

I don't have any wrinkles. Yet. Ugh.

I am 24 and want part of, but not all of my marketing of my work, to come from cosplaying. Am I too old to become a popular cosplayer if I am in good enough shape and have enough talent?

Thank you all so much!

No! I'm new to cosplay, but if I've learned anything from more experienced cosplayers and cons, it's that Cosplay is for everyone, and you can do whatever you want. Age, body type , skin color, it isn't matter as long as you have fun! And if you want to cosplay, I say GO COSPLAY! If you work hard, you can be a popular cosplayer!

No, why should it be? A friend of mine who's a teacher started cosplaying at 40. Age is just a number :P

I'm over 30 and cosplay just fine. I don't have a high-profile following, but I do have a great network of cos-friends and thoroughly enjoy sharing the things I learn and do.

Speak volumes through your craft! Your sewing skills and Etsy store already put you miles ahead. Share your process, highlight your technical expertise, and showcase the quality of your work. Let your talent shine, and age will become irrelevant.
