dying shapes onto a shirt
I want to get started in cosplay and my first step is this t-shirt design. I assume( and please educate me if I am wrong) that taking a shirt and dying it would be the best method. I know there are shirt dying tutorials out there, but what I am having trouble finding is a way to maintain the specific shapes the white circle in particular. I am looking for any and all advice how to do this thanks.

One way to achieve this is by using a material called "resist paste" or "fabric dye resist" to block the dye from reaching certain areas of the fabric. You can apply the resist paste in the shape of the circle before dyeing the shirt, and then dye the shirt as usual. After the dye has set, you can wash out the resist paste to reveal the white circle.
Since you intend to use a 100% cotton shirt, it should take dye well. Just make sure to follow the dyeing instructions for cotton fabric. Good luck with your cosplay project!
