New, I guess./FFX Cosplay Help

Heya ^_^; I'm new here... I just began cosplaying/costume making about... umn... since January or so. I'm working on three costumes right now (ugggh) and they're all from Final Fantasy. My Songstress Rikku's coming along great, and the Dark Gunner Yuna (I'm making it 'with' my friend- I'm really doing all the work -.o) is, too, but the FFX Rikku that I'm helping another friend do is killing me! How do you do shorts that won't catch in the back? We've used a pattern, but the results were... less than perfect.

-thinks- What else, what else...

Oh, and can anyone offer me tips on Songstress Rikku's microphone? Like, the actual microphone part. My mind, for some strange reason, keeps drifting back to 'ice cream cone' o.o

i'm so sorry to say but i've never played ffx or ffx2

stupid lil'bro had to take the ps2 with him! to his dad's house!

but as for shorts... i've seen alot of people buy a pair of yellow shorts and take them in so it's as short as rikku's...

Oh, regular Rikku? Shorts? Rikku doesn't wear shorts in her regular outfit....

Ouch, I guess I read that way too quickly...all 5 times...But yea, I would go with Kohyoh's idea. I would buy a regular pair of shorts and hem them up.

Look at Salvation Army, Goodwill, and other such places for the shorts. You may not find the 'perfect' pair, but chances are you'll get close. and you can add that white part to the bottum of them pretty easily as well. Yes, but go with second hand, cheaper, goodstuff, and if you mess up, it's not as bad as messing up with something purchased from say, Nordstroms. yah.

rikku is my favorits ff character of all time!
...sadly i don't look a thing like her... but my cousin does... hair color and everything...
currently i'm trying to get her to come to teh summer cons with me as rikku... she likes her costumes since most of them are on the skimppy side...
any ideas on coax'n her?
so far all i can think of that is of her interest is sailor moon, ranma, cute boys, and beaches...
