What constitutes an event?

I'm holding an iDOLM@STER cosplay gathering at Fanime 2015 in celebration of the franchise's 10th anniversary and I was wondering if I should add it as an event. I was hoping there was some way to publicize it on this site so I don't have to send PM invites (which is what I tried last year). I know an event was filed for the iDOLM@STER gathering at Anime Expo 2013. Could anyone help shed some light on this?

Feel free to add it as an event, so it will show up on our events page but you will need to conduct your own publicity runs for it beyond that

Fanime 2015 needs dates set in it before you can add events to it

You are able to edit the dates by clicking the button

I just tested uploading a banner image, upload a jpg that is less than 1MB then click update
