Need Fresh Ideas

I used to be really big into the convention and cosplay thing, but over the past few years I've had to abstain for various reasons. But I'm (finally) going home and want something awesome for A-Kon this year. Or several somethings; I've done 3 costume changes in a day before. ^_^

Problem is I've also not been watching anime/reading manga for much the same reasons, so I don't have a place to start from. I need some ideas of what to make.

I like costumes for what they look like, rather than the character or show they're from, so telling you my favorite shows wouldn't help much. I like ones with skirts, or bold colors, or anything that makes it pop out and go "WHEEE! LOOK AT ME!" I’m also not above fan-service. ^_^

For myself, I'm 5'3" (or 5'4" in some convenience stores) and about 105lbs. I'm getting my weight back bit by bit, but I'm sure I'll still be way on the slight side when A-Kon rolls around. I've got long hair that I can do a temp dye on, but I'd rather not mess with wigs.

I don't have pics of my old cosplay (boo, computer crash) but some of favorites I've done were Yukari and Princess Jupiter.

So? Any ideas? What should I make?
