detailed cosplay ideas??? need suggestions please :)

I want to make two detailed cosplay costumes for the New York Anime Festival cosplay competition. it doesn't necessarily need to be big costumes like a mobile suit just something detailed and intricate. maybe something rare? or with weapons?
i'll make anything and i have resources to like hardware stores and stuff
i just have no idea what to make lol
can anyone give some suggestions please? thanks!!
