Keeping jagged edges from fraying?

I've heard you can paint them with acrylic paint, but are there any other methods?

Um, I'm guessing the point is to have them look jagged, right? Otherwise you would hem them. Hmm...why not try painting them with glue? It might be cleaner-looking and stronger.

That is the cutest icon. Ever. Oh Lon Lon Ranch! ^^

Fray Check. It comes in a small clear bottle with a blue cap.
Works great on most fabric, but test it first to make sure it doesn't stain.
You can find it at most craft stores near the pins and sewing things.

Or you could use clear nailpolish or if you very carefully, and your fabric is synthetic, you can burn the hem using a glowing incentstick.

With fray check I recommend squeezing some out into a disposable container and using a tooth pick to apply it...some times it runs out of the bottle too quickly, so this keeps you from getting big dots of it.

Also the fumes are really nasty, so work outside if you can, or at least with a fan and open window.
