I'm also curious about her collar, I've done her first costume (the dress) and I messed up horribly on the collar and I'm not quite sure how to avoid screwing it up again.

Any suggestions or adivce? Please and thank you :)

Yay! Another Sakura Cosplayer!!

Well, I cosplay the dress.... Now, I think its cool if you make your own things but mabye do what I did... Go online... Like amazon.com or shopzilla.com.... You type in the searchbar "Naruto costumes" and it should come up for something... If not try "Sakura cosplay costumes" If that doesnt work.. Message me and tell me and I'll go and look for it myself! ^.^

A lot of cosplaying is trial and error, and now that you've done a similar collar once and know what not to do, that should help a bit. The way I would do it is head on over to your nearest fabric and sewing store location (such as JoAnns) and look through any of the books with shirts/vests/costumes/dresses and see if you can find a similar torso portion and collar to Sakura's. Once you find one, you should because it's not all that difficult to find really, modify it the way you think it would need to be, and make sure to get interfacing. The pattern may not call for it, or might require it in the collar. The interfacing doesn't have to be heavy, but it does need to be able to hold the collar so try an average weight.
Also, another thing that might help is check out other cosplayers on the site and try to figure out what they might have done. A friend of mine made the collar entirely separate and it looked great, but you need to do what you think is best. I hope you do well on this, and if you need any help with modifying the pattern or want more advice just PM me.

for the skirt, you could make a waistband then add the fabric to the front and back. then the belt things on the side.

A waist band is just a strip of fabric that goes around the waist and is folded and sewn together with buttons or snaps or whatever to connect it in the front or back. You could also do elasitc and not bother with buttons or snaps.

hope that helps instead of confuse :D
