*giggles inanly*

For the record, Link is looking for someone cheaper than I am. Can't say as I blame him either, I'm expensive when it comes to armor and the fact that there's the jointed solid digits on this piece doesn't help the price.

I'd offer to throw in a philosopher's stone for Sterling's price, but they're a licensed product and I don't recreate licensed products, in the same way scarywater won't host licensed bittorrents.

Awww, heck with it, you supply the... raw materials, and I'll toss one in. 8)

Where would the client get that many corpses? Do I even want to know... Well, just one thing to keep in mind. If you go with Amethyst Angel, it WILL be made of craft foam.

AA put up a tutorial on Edward's automail, and she used a combination of craft foam, styrene, and vinyl. It would seem to be a lightweight and safe yet durable mix, although seeing as how I haven't worn it, I wouldn't really know. I've seen suggestions for using aluminum flashing, but I get the impression that it would be dangerous if the edges weren't properly finished.

The aluminum flashing method would work, if anyone attempting it had the metalworking tools to do it correctly. However, those skills (and tools) aren't mine.

Fiberglass can make good automail, and has been used several times to good effect. However, AA believes that fiberglass can't be used for armor, or at least not by her.

for my money, formed plastic would be the best way to go, with each piece connected via a lot of hook & eyes to an underglove of black 4-way stretch to allow the maxium range of motion. You still wouldn't be able to raise your arm above your head, and there'd be SOME rotary restriction, and don't try writing with that hand, but other than that, you'd be able to use the arm perfectly. If you're paying attention, Ed will flash little bits of black in between chinks in his automail, so it's accruacte.

I've got to finish a paper, I'll finish my rant later.
