Itachi Akatsuki costume

I am trying to create a coat for itachi just like the one shown in the picture below. I am new to cosplay as this is my first attempt at a full costume. Can someone please tell me how I would go about doing this?

Find a pattern for a wizarding robe or something like that. Then extend the collar to make that shape and put some iron-on stiff interfacing between the black main and the red lining. The decals can be made from felt and lined in puff paint. Felt tends to do well cause it is thick and hard to see through.

The only dilemna I have now is how I would go about doing the wig. Does anyone have any suggesions?

Try a shoulder length wig and trim it. There are some people out there that style wigs for a price, but that is a somewhat simple wig. Look on sites like www.acewigs.com for a boy-cut black wig or something.

I can style Itachi for you just tell me if you would like that and I'll send you a PM with my quote.

But I would start with a Femme Fatale wig from Amphigory, straighten it, cut in bangs, and then add in an extension to get that full length because when fully straightened the Femme wig reaches the shoulders and I believe Itachi's reaches lower than that.

But that's just the Wig for Dummies version, missing the obvious methods I would use to create the actual Itachi style.
