yeah, but i mainly reccomend it for the arm piece. the rest, especially the shield, can be done with other methods as well. I also recommend taking a look at the first link in the armor making questions thread (in the very second post). amethyst angel is brilliant as a prop-maker.

as with any type of shape-able substance, you gotta be kinda crafty to use it, but its re-heatable and re-shape-able, so if you mess up, you just blast it with a bit of heat and try again. do not however, pull at it or try to stretch it while it is hot, as this weakens it and makes it so it wont be ...

dont use metal. its really heavy and often banned at cons. use other materials, such as wondeflex, fiberglass (use safety precautions!!!) or any other prop-making tips you can find on the forums here.

Pattern Drafting

So does anyone have any tips for drafting a pattern? when making a costume, I use a pattern but then alter it by trying it on, pinning it, taking it off, sewing a little, trying it on again, pinning some more, etc etc.

any sites or tips from you more professional types? =3

a wig will take any sort of hairspray really. anything you do to your hair short of bleach, other strong chemicals, and heat, the wig can usually take.

so just pull one part over and clip it then spray spray spray and then take out the clip and it should be fine!

well, i think it would be a good idea to buy a pattern and modify it because then you have complete control over the materials and everything. aside from modifying the pattern, just follow the directions exactly that the pattern will give you.

hmmm... i think that a comfy but durable fabric would work best, not too light and flimsy. go to a joanns or other fabric store and feel all the fabrics and decide which one you like best. light and flimsy fabrics seem to be the most common mistake for people who are new to cosplay, looking for non-...
