Re: Nebraskon

*uses phoenix down on thread*

I know this is for last year, but there's really no point in creating a new thread..

Anyhow, I will be going to Anime NebrasKon 2009 (not only as a panelist, I'm second-year staff).

Need ideas for Cosplay Make-up panel

For Anime NebrasKon, I'm running the panel Make-up for Cosplay, a Q&A/demo panel giving tips and advice for cosplay make-up. I'd like some ideas on what characters would be the most popular or most complicated for me to show examples and to demonstrate. Ones I came up with: Ryuk (Death Note), Orochi...

I'm planning on drafting my own pattern soon for making the clouds for my Sexy-no-Jutsu Gaara cosplay. I'm going to use newspaper to practice drawing it out, and I'll recycle what I didn't use for the pattern. No waste!

If anyone went to NebrasKon and saw the atrocity known as Awesome Rangers, I was Furrie Feline. The 'pilot' episode, as it's being called, is currently on YouTube. The sequel from this year will be up by mid-January.

I'm still trying to make the Marilyn Nebraska wig.

I did think dying was first, but I wanted to make sure.

OK, I feel like such a total newbie, but I need to know:

Do you dye a wig first, then cut/style? Or cut/style, then dye?

NebrasKon is coming up in November.

It's in Lincoln; roughly 3 hours from Kansas City.

Marilyn Nebraska wig

I'm going to be cosplaying Marilyn Nebraska, but I don't know what to do for the wig. Since I'm going to be wearing this costume more than once, I want a good quality wig, but at a reasonable price. http://www.animegalleries.net/albums/trigun/nebraska/trigun_nebraska0037.jpg http://www.animegallerie...

There's also Rose from FMA:

I made mine in less than three days or roughly 10 hours. You can make it by altering the Simplicity 9691 or 5959 (which I used.)

Excel Saga

Next year, my boyfriend and I will be cosplaying Il Palazzo and Hyatt. Since he has almost no sewing skills, I will be making both costumes. However, I have no idea how to make the shoulder armor or crown for Il Palazzo, or Hyatt's shoulder pads. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be very gratef...

I'm from NE and I cosplay. :D

There are a few. There were about 10 or more at last year's NebrasKon, so there should be a lot more this year.

cleaning a 'dry clean only' costume

Not really a construction question, but I didn't know where else to post this. I modified a 'dry-clean only' jacket for my NightWalker costume. The hair dye I used rubbed off and now there is a big dark spot where my hair was on the back, collar, and shoulders. I don't want to run the risk of ruinin...
