I made a 5ft soul reaver...it was cardboard, reinforced with two layers of fabric glued on, shaped and then a good layer of paper macher made it nice and stiff, a dowel for the grip and foam to shape the hilt.

actually the headband itself of covered in leather but I covered that also with fur...don't worry, I just did it with tacky anyways...it works just fine

Thanks, I'm trying to get my glue gun back from a a friend...and have failed so far. I have clear tacky but I wasn't sure if that was strong enough to hold the fur onto a headband. ^^ Makin' my ears...

which is better for gluing fur? tacky or hot glue...or any other suggestions?

can you give me a picture with the characte4r holding it? I'm very good and matching swords and large weapons to be directly proportional to the character and look good. If you want light weight, I would suggest aluminum flashing, sheet metal, or wood.

That's funny, cause I'm going to Otakon (I'm on staff). If you succeed at your Rikku...I'd like a picture if that's alright?

for the ring, I would suggest scuply clay and/or sheet metal with gold spray paint....there was another thread here that had directions for that ring...I think it's in a YuGiOh topic...

a picture would help being that she has like 3 different battle outfits...

honestly, I believe they are dark green and baggy...Lain doesn't look like a girl who would wear flares (I've seen it) and go for sort of a grunge look, you can see that the pants are tattered at the top where the black belt is...preferable a clothe belt too...perhaps

EEP! sorry, I don't think I could make all that....and I would be deamed not to make the rod with the dagger inside because it's a potential weapon...gomen ne!

If you want to try your hand at making them, I would say invest in some scuply, foamcore, and sheet metal.

If you have some pictures of the items you need, I might be able to make them pending on what they look like.

have you tried looking at the A-kon website? On their cosplay info they state: PROPS What goes on the stage with you, comes off the stage with you. Just as a hint, I would also check your con's weapons policy, I know some cons won't allow over a certain height for weapons and props. Also, try foam board...it's stiff and it won't crumble like some styrofoam will.

try www.sewingpatterns.com you can try and find a pattern in the costumes or whichever that closely resembles the fuku jacket then modifiy it the best you can.

There used to be a fuku pattern out there but I think it went out of print...I'll keep looking though..
