About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I wanted to do this cosplay a year ago, but I couldn't find the right fabric (nearly impossible to find green on black). I found white on black, but I didn't want to learn how to dye fabric yet, so I just gave up on the cosplay. Then one day I was on fabric.com, looking for fabric to redo my regular Ryuko cosplay, and I stumbled across a green on black cotton, and had to get it, as it was only TWO DOLLARS A YARD. The dress I used a princess cut pattern for, I patterened it and finished it in about 5 hours. The horns are not the canon shape, but truth be told I hate the canon shape so I decided to go with a more exaggerated ram horn shape. I knew I was only going to wear this once so I didn't really care about sturdiness, I cared more about ease of construction. Wire, aluminum foil, and model magic. I don't know how long it took me to make them, but not as long as I originally calculated.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I made this specificaly for a cosplay meetup here in AZ, and I finished it in time! But since I stayed up that night to make the dress, I was too exhausted to actually go to the meetup. My friend told me he'd shoot me on thursday if I brought it to ALA, so I did!
