Construction Details:

Dress was drafted by me- it's a green glitter organza overlaid on a chartreuse-colored satin, with 400 Swarovski crystals painstakingly glued on my hand. The wings are also organza slipped over a wire frame. The wings attach by slipping through some clear straps (which also hold the dress up- bonus!) and a little extension slips into a pocket inside the dress so that the wings don't spin, since they're top heavy.



The shoes, I got only, were already green, but I put some iridescent fine glitter on it too. The poms are handsewn and made of organza, then glued on. I wear dance tights with this dress, because it is of course very short! Even in the original movie, her bum shows, but nothing too immodest. Still surprising, coming from a cartoon of that age. XD

Personal Thoughts:

Just a fun easy costume that I did on impulse! I loved how it came out though ^_^ I modeled it after the original Tinkerbell in Disney's Peter Pan, so I was particular about what materials to use. I wanted it to look sort of costume-y pin-up instead of natural or realistic like the new Tinkerbell. I think retro costumes are really adorable, and just really humbling in comparison to hyperrealistic or cutting edge modern looks/materials.

Styling Notes

Wig was originall for Saber from Fate Stay Night. I removed the original bun, which was a very smooth looking bun with a braid around the bottom, and added one from Arda. I also added wefts to the bottom of the neck of the wig for more coverage.
