About this Costume
Construction Details:
I have made so many of these things, and it's all the same ritual over and over again. The one thing I attempted at with this costume, unlike the others, was the satin boot covers. I wanted the boots to match the fuku 100%. I bought a base pair of ankle boots and built the covers onto them. They zip up at the sides and lace in the front (makes it a real pain to take them off or put them on)
I wanted to go with a brighter green instead of the dark. I believe the inner scouts are the bright colors, outers are the dark colors. This is my second Jupiter costume. My original was a dark green. I like the pink bow contrast to the brighter green better :)
I scuplted the rose earrings from sculpy clay and coated them with a gloss coat for shine. The hair bobbles I found at a dollar store. They were really big cartoonish looking ones and thought they would be perfect for Jupiter!
No wig is needed for this costume, my real hair is pretty much Jupiters color and style. I added volume to the bangs and curled the side strands.
I made this costume to be part of a Sailor scout group with Straywind, Pan-Chan, Rankin24, and Jukebox. Our Venus couldn't make it due to the insane lineups for badges at AN this year. I will wear this one again to get the full inner group shots with the girls in the near future :)
The costume is pretty comfy except for the boots. If I wear them for too long they really start to hurt D:
Personal Thoughts:
The scout I can pull off the easiest! I get to use my real hair for it XD Plus I have the height for Sailor Jupiter ^_^
