About this Costume

This costume took about a month and a half to finish, working on and off and gathering all the materials. I'll work my way top to bottom: Since I couldn't find a small top size hat that I was satisfied with on ebay, I ended up making my own out of black felt, black craft foam, hot glue gun and some handsewing. I reused my wig, eyepatch, and contacts from Circus ciel. Jacket and shorts? are lined and bias tape is used for the edges. There's a blue striped vest that I made and wore underneath the jacket, but only part of the end is shown in the picture of the original artwork. The collar piece, sleeves, and white sash around my waist was the most time consuming part of this costume. I went with accuracy and decided to trace the edges by free hand, cut each scallops individually, fray-checked, and added the silver details on each one with a silver fabric marker (which I have to say is my life saver). Those parts are also my favorite pieces on this costume. Boots were purchased off of ebay and the original black laces were taken out and I added in the silver cord and added the tassels. The cane was made out of a wooden dowel and painted. The skull, crown and bottom pieces were made out of baked clay, painted, clear-coated, and glued onto the dowel.
