Construction Details:

This crazy costume ~ I can't believe I finished it all. I made everything, most of it without a pattern. From the underneath up: undershirt, corset (28 steel boned, busk, period shaping corset), shirt, jacket (custom jacket flat patterned from scratch). The skirts: period bloomers, bustle with train support, underskirt (with over 50-yards of ruffles for edging), over skirt (8 yards of black velvet cartridge pleated), bustle pad. All the other accessories of doom: fishnets, boots heavily modified, ribbons galore, crop, parasol (all hand painted), wig (styled by myself), hat (small top hat - in the process of making a true Victorian riding hat), hat tails (screen printed designs). Phew! It weighs a ton!
