About this Costume
Construction Details:
Wow. I don't know where to start. Everything is handmade, including the gloves (my nightmare, as usual). I do use patterns but I just modify the pieces and make up the rest. That goes for all pieces of this costume minus the boots. Those boots... I hate them, but I was proud I was able to make them. However, they're coming apart so I'm planning on remaking them before Anime Boston 2015. I'd also like to replace my base wig as I accidentally cut the bangs on this one too short.
Personal Thoughts:
Silabus is my favorite fictional character and has been for quite a few years now. I originally made this costume in 2009. I knew after making it that first time that I would want to revisit it when I had more skill. And so in 2014, my cosplay partner and I decided to bring a dream of 5+ years to life and create our Silabus and Gaspard skit for Anime Boston's masquerade. This is my favorite costume by far. It's so much fun when people recognize these characters and we've met a lot of awesome people because of it! The costume I'm most proud of.

Styling Notes
The most interesting part of this costume for me. My issue my first time with this wig, years ago - I couldn't figure out how to get the ponytail to stay in a twirly position. This time was much easier. Basically, I took one of those large plastic mesh sheets and using it as a base for the ponytail. Then I mod podged layers of wefts to each side until... voila! Curly Ponytail! This process took a couple of weeks, but it was worth the effort.
Wig Review
Arda's wigs and wefts are amazing. This wig was perfect for Silabus - all I needed to do was trim the bangs. Admittedly, I trimmed the front of them a bit too short so I'll probably eventually buy the base wig again and restyle it. The ponytail is made of wefts of the same color of the wig.
