Construction Details:

It was my first time really making a dress. I mean, I made the LOTR one about 5 months before this, but that dress has simple lines and followed the pattern. With this there is so much detail going on and I had to deviate from the pattern so much.

I wanted to make this since 2009, and had the fabric since late 2010(I spent like a year searching for the fabric, I wanted it to be perfect). But then I was intimidated by the idea of making such a completed piece of clothing. Wound up finally sucking it up and starting it in late spring 2013 because I had no money for new fabrics for other projects.

It was hard at first, but once I kind of got into a groove making it, the only difficult things were the scallops on the skirt(I was not leaving out that detail, so cutting each one perfectly and then making sure it wouldn't fray was time-consuming hell), the embroidery on the scallops along the opening to the underskirt, and the neckline.
