About this Costume
Construction Details:
The primary and secondary colors of the outfit are a combination of dull and crepe back satins. The leotard was made with white lycra using the famous Green Pepper pattern, but I chose to cut the leotard out as one piece (like an actual leotard) rather than a top and bottom half with a seam connecting them. The "breast armor" was basically a modified version of the top part of the leotard. The "rolls" are tubes of fabric with piping filler and were hand-sewn onto the "breast armor", gloves, and skirt. The hip roll is basically just the mid-section of the pattern for the leotard filled with stuffing. The skirt is the circle skirt from the same Green Pepper pattern. The sailor collar and bows attach via snaps, the choker is just a tube of the same fabric used for the skirt sewn into a tube, ironed flat, and closes with velcro. The brooch is half a plastic sphere with the inside painted, and has felt glued to the back so that I can just safety-pin it to the front bow.The white gloves are from We Love Colors; they were shortened and the glove "rolls" were hand-sewn onto each glove. The shoes were white pumps purchased from a thrift shop; I made a pattern for the shoe covers and then cut them out from the correct fabric and glued them onto the shoes. My friend who cosplayed Uranus made the tiara for me.
Personal Thoughts:
As someone who's still kinda new to sewing my own cosplays, the idea of making this was very intimidating at first, but it didn't turn out to be too bad.
