About this Costume
Construction Details:
I didn't actually do much here! The skirt was a quick voodoo mix of a pencil and a line pattern that I stuck a zipper in and sort of wish I had time to pay a little more attention to, honestly. The bolts were made of insulation foam! I used a compass to size them and I carve them out, sanded them down, and gessoed them a LOT. Sanded again, spray painted, hot glued together, put screw caps in them. I used a metal skewer to melt holes in a plastic headband (uh, wouldn't actually recommend this. i nearly branded my thumb by accident and the scar still looks pretty iffy! i just didn't have access to power tools at the time.), put the screws in, then stuffed the headband under my wig. The stitches were just eyeliner with a few layers of rigid collodion over the top!
Personal Thoughts:
FRAAAAAAN. I've been meaning to do this cosplay for nearly three years now and I've had the wig for almost two of those years haha. 2013 was a good year for finally fulfilling many of my old cosplay pipe dreams, and being Fran was a blast. It's amazing how many people are aware of this awesome series, even now. 8w8
