Construction Details:

I had to remake the inner turtleneck and jacket bottom hem longer and THAT FRIGGEN WIERD SAILOR COLLAR KILLED ME but I love this jacket to death, especially the pockets. The bias tape was all made by hand because it had to match the color/fabric used on the pants legs. People making the girl version of this uniform have it easy! hahaha!!! I was so happy to have an event to wear this to with AMAZING FRIENDS~!

Personal Thoughts:

Kyun Kyun! I've been a Gundam fan for more than a decade, but honestly I never "grew up" with Macross. My cousins and friends did but I personally never got into it until very recently when I was able to watch the entire SDF Macross in remastered version. My respect and admiration for all the work that went into certain scenes, episodes, and art really blew me away. Mikimoto is seriously top tier, Hikaru is the best sort of Adorkable lead pilot, and all the characters are very interesting. So when friends were putting together a big all-macross group for Anime Expo 2013 to celebrate the new Macross 30 game, and I saw the slot of Hikaru open, I jumped on it super fast!! I've always loved the design of the UN Spacy uniforms (I'm a real sucker for white naval stuff if you couldn't tell) and was really happy to have an even to wear this with a FANTASTIC GROUP OF FRIENDS.

How was the wig colored?

FW Ink and Alcohol 70% in spray bottle
