Construction Details:

I made the crown with a card stock inner layer. Then over the cardstock I glued on gold spandex on both sides. I purchased some beads and colored the back of the beads red. Then I glued the beads onto the crown. I did not want to just glue the crown to the wig so I added a headband to the crown.

Purchased about 2-3 yards of light green cotton interlock. I really wanted to make this dress in a different fabric but couldn't find the right color that I wanted. When I made the dress I made it with one seam on the back and to give some flair. I sewed the dress with a stretch zig sag stitch mostly used for spandex. On the bottom of the dress I added a decorative stitch that makes flower shapes as the character is a princess and thought it be a nice touch. For the chest I sewed on a layer of white broadcloth which I top stitched. The sleeves I made them separate from the dress. They are also made with the white broadcloth. I gathered both ends of the sleeves, the bottom of the sleeves I sewed on elastic.

The necklace is made with gold spandex. With a bigger bead I painted the other side light green and glued it onto the necklace.

Personal Thoughts:

When I was little my mother purchased the VHS to this movie. At first I was not a fan of it but once I got older it grew on me. About 2 years ago I purchased the DVD copy and appreciated the movie even more.
