Cosplayer Moetron > Costume of Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- ARMOR: My boyfriend made these out of stainless steel and some odds and ends he found at Michaels.
BELT AND SUSPENDERS: The belt is a premade black belt blank I bought from Tandy Leather, we cut and shortened it. The suspenders we dyed from blanks and then made.
GLOVES AND HAIRBAND: I bought Harbringer weightlifting gloves, and then ripped the logo out with a seam ripper as well as the original binding. Then I cut the wrap off and used the same dying process as my shoes. The armwarmers are just drafted and serged black lycra.
SHIRT: Bought a tank and then cut, serged and hemmed it.
SKIRT: I found a black leather skirt at a vintage store for pretty cheap. I lowered the waistline and raised the hem.
SHOES: I bought Doc Martens and then proceeded to dye them. I used rubbing alcohol to remove the original finish and then used Angelus leather paints to paint it, then sealed it with Meltonian shoe wax. The bottom of the shoes are just painted in black acrylic and sealed with floor sealer.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This cosplay...the cosplay that took me a year to finish---for no other reason then laziness :D! Needless to say, I'm excited to have finally finished my first Final Fantasy cosplay~~~ Ohohohohoho there will be many more~
- Styling Notes
- Cut the bangs, and shortened and cut in the whale tail :)!
- Wig Review
- Man this wig had thick bangs, I had to cut a lot out of them to do the side sweep, but for how long it is it was remarkably easy to work with! I love it!
