About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- I used my Cosmode pattern book for the skirt and top, so that took out most of the guess work for me. ^^; I started by making the skirt first, using a metal ruler to help set the pleats. Box pleats? Knife pleats? I hate how it depends on what reference picture you're using, but in the end I decided to go with knife pleats out of personal preference. I don't know what happened, but installing the zipper took me quite a while to figure out. I still hate sewing in zippers! ^^; The top was almost the same as Shii Arisugawa construction-wise, but I used a different sleeve pattern and had one hell of a time altering the neckline for the collar. The only other difficult part of this costume was figuring out how to make the gloves, originally I looked at Zil's Street Fighter Gloves Tutorial for reference, but ended up doing my own thing by winging it. 8D I made the gloves using jersey knit, interfacing, and quilter's batting. I love how they turned out, but they'll definitely be remade at some point when I find a pleather fabric that better matches my shoes, same goes for the under armor and bloomers. The headband was one of the first items I made for this costume, I don't remember what the fabric is called but it's the same one I used for Siyegen's Dewey Novak. I picked it because the fabric's super lightweight, and at 95" in total length it nearly reaches the back of my knees when tied up. XD
- Personal Thoughts:
- Oh, Sakura. :3 I've loved this girl ever since she was introduced into the series, and she is the reason I own red Chucks! I really had no idea how tedious and aggravating it would be to work on this costume, as I took my time and made it as clean and crisp as possible. I also thought it would be a great idea to start on this a week before Halloween. LOL Sakura is one of the first, if not the first costume I ever wanted to make, long before I found out about this hobby called "cosplay" 8D I'm so glad this is finally done, as I can finally cross something off of my dream cosplay list!

- Wig Review
- THIS WIG HAS SPLIT ENDS. o___o I'm not sure how it happened, as it's been in proper storage since I last wore it (Banagher Links at Anime Los Angeles 2011). The wig also has this bump on top, as it's a wig meant for spiking. Well, at least it still photographs nicely, but I'm already looking into a replacement wig. ^^;
