About this Costume
Construction Details:
From the top!
Hat- made from the same material as corset. the shape was made by tracing a plate and then sewing a rectangle with a length that equaled the plate's circumference. on the inside there are little pieces of elastic that have pins sewn in to keep it attached to my wig. Feather was given to me at the Fashion district.

Hair ornament: cut out of craft foam. i started by drawing a 5 pointed star and then free handed the curves. I then spray painted it and attached a clip to the back

Soul Gem- I originaly bought a clear one at the LA fashion district and then painted it with nail polish. the backing was made the same way as the hair ornament. The flower is made by drawing a circle from a plate and then free handing the petals. these were spray painted and then I hot glued all the pieces to a pin.

Wig- was purchased from http://www.ebay.com/itm/Puella-Magi-Madoka-Magica-Tomoe-Mami-cosplay-wig-/120757517695?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1db57d7f#ht_5475wt_1105

Shirt: made from cotton using New Look pattern 6781. I sewed the brown bias tape to the sleeve holes before sewing the sleeves on to get the right look. the little cross pieces over the zipper are bias tape secured with snaps.

Arm sleeves- I kinda made up the pattern.... good old vocaloid days helped me with that. same material as the shirt.

Gloves- King Rifle gloves in black

Corset: I had a body shaper "corset" that i wore and then drafted a pattern around it. I added a zipper in the front and then top stitched the bias tape and the ribbon (from JoAnns)The buckles came with my boots and I just sewed them on and secured with snaps.

Skirt- basic circle skirt made from Poplin with quilt binding on the bottom to keep the waves in

Socks: from http://www.sockdreams.com/products/socks/over-the-knee/solid-opaque-thigh-high in brown

Boots: Bought in the Fashion district, painted with shoe paint.

Rifle: one of my Upperclassmen graduated and left her rifle behind. so i decided to transform it into a Mami musket. I removed the strap and then freehanded all the designs on. I kinda combined the Production and anime art for it...
