Construction Details:

Wig is prestyled, I just trimmed it. The buncovers were bought from ebay. The umbrella was bought and the point was sculpted from paperclay. Pattern for the dress is McCall's M4369, modified to add the front right chest seam, and it's made of salmon poplin and twill piping.

I never want to sew piping again @_@ (Or at least not for a while...)

Personal Thoughts:

Well, this costume came about as a result of some friends and I discussing how ungodly pale we all are, so we decided to do a Yato group LOL. I love Gintama and someday I wanna do Otae and Kagura's timeskip outfit, too.

Styling Notes

Oh my god. Getting the buncovers to stay on was what took up all the wig styling time. They were designed with an elastic band on the inside, but because of their weight they tip off the buns and they have no combs to keep them hooked on. Meanwhile, the wig's pigtails are thick and slippery. So, I spent ages trying to figure out how to get them to stay on. Eventually, I solved it by inserting bent open hairpins into a small hole at the center of the covers where the tassle comes out.
