Construction Details:

I WELCOME YOU TO DATE 2.0

ARMOR: All the armor is craft foam. I salvaged the shoulder and thigh pieces from my prior set but redid the rest. All of it is craft foam with a posterboard backing (as opposed to muslin) for the sake of stability. The helmet is a construction play hat (LOL SURPRISE) and posterboard again in a foam core style for the moon.

CLOTHING: I managed to salvage everything from the prior costume. I added boning to the coat to keep it a "pop" but unfortunately the collar's pop died LOL. Redyed the gloves as well. The tabi socks were tailored from a pattern and the sandals are the same from last time as well (modified a pair).

I unfortunately couldn't find my own set of swords in time for the convention, so thank you ninjagal6 for letting me borrow yours (but don't ever bring live steel to a con again...con ops gets on your ass hngh.)

Personal Thoughts:

SECOND TIME IS THE CHARM. This cosplay was so hard to move in and heavy and I had back issues BUT IT WAS COMPLETELY WORTH IT. I loved every moment bringing the best honor I could to a character so awesome and often cheated out of cosplay spotlight (LOL). Thank you to my AWESOME Keiji (Bekalou) for the amazing bro time with this baby. I have rekindled by love for Basara and it's not going to stop anytime soon :D

Wig Review

The wig is great, but it has heavy red undertones that confused me a bit. It served a good run but this is going to turn into my Kotetsu wig instead haha.
