Construction Details:

Most of Kaede is 2 way-stretch knit fabric, (mostly because I ran out of time & didn't want to bother hemming everything). The shirt is altered & serged & the pants I really lucked out on & found at a thrift store (I didn't have time to sew poofy pants). The cape, wraps & belt are knit. The hood of the cape has a gold moon pendant attached to it & the capulet of the cape has gold coin trim sewn onto it (I sounded like a bag of christmas ornaments whenever I moved, haha). The cape & belt are stressed & worn & then burned to match the character design by Allison Strom. During the process of making this costume, I discovered that when you burn stretch knit, the fabric melts & turns to plastic instead.... ... fascinating
