Cosplayer Gwiffen > Costume of Akira Takizawa from Eden of the East
About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- Takizawa take two! It was super awesome getting to do the Eden of the East industry event at Anime Expo with Funimation. But I didn't want to wear my old Takizawa coat since that was just a modified man-coat and would've been sweltering hot. So I did the logical thing and made an entirely new coat from scratch. Of course. I'd always liked the jacket he wore at the end of the series so I just took the opportunity to work with Funimation as an excuse to make a new costume. :]
And then I did something nerdier. I took pictures at THE MALL in Japan. You know, THAT MALL. The one half the series took place in. Since I was already on the moon I had a why not moment and dragged a friend down to the Lalaport Mall in Toyosu with me for pictures and trying our best to not look suspicious. Eheh, it was kind of embarrassing but thankfully the costume wasn't flashy albeit weather inappropriate for the summer.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Oh my gooooodness! It was so awesome getting to meet the creators of Eden of the East! I got the director Kenji Kamiyama to sign my silly foamboard Noblesse phone and Satoru Nakamura, the art supervisor, even drew a sketch of me. *0* It was so awesome, man. I can only use the word "awesome" to describe it.
If you're le super curious about this sketch for some reason I scanned it here. :3
