About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- I made everything except the hoop skirt. Used historical patterns for the main garments. The skirts had French seams and blind stitch hems. The bodice alone took about 20 hours total @_@;;; It's fully lined (in pink!!!) and boned, laces up in the back. All the ruffles were gathered & stitched by hand, which took foreverrrrrrrr but was worth the clean look. White fabric is bridal satin with a crepon sheer overlay, pink fabric is crepe. The gloves were made out of a matte spandex. Gold accessories are craft foam with self-casted gems. Wig is styled with a ponytail and cleverly held securely with a claw clip. Although you can't really see them, I'm also wearing pink pumps to match :D
- Personal Thoughts:
- I freaking LOVE Louise, just a bit. This is my favorite outfit of hers and even though there isn't much Zero no Tsukaima cosplay around, I felt the need to do it justice. This has been planned for a while (about 2 years) and put off several times until I felt I had enough time and skills to make it exactly how I wanted. Basically this is one of my dream costumes! Mucho thanks to all my friends for the encouragement! ◕ ◡ ◕ And Sam for being my Saito~~
