About this Costume
- Construction Details:
- I started off by making the shoe covers, which were originally a pair of really gaudy-looking gothic lolita shoes. I -literally- hacked away at the shoes using a hand saw, and covered it using dull bridal satin, carefully glueing down the fabric in key spots so the glue wouldn't "bleed" and be noticable on the surface. The ankle strap isn't accurate to her design at all, but I felt that going 100% accurate would damage the uh, integrity (? I guess that's what you call it) of the shoe. My shoes are more sturdy this way! Sewing the base dress itself was easy, the tedious part was measuring, cutting out, and stitching down all the red and orange bands. @___@ They follow the "curve" of the dress exactly, as stitching down straight lines or ribbon just isn't going to look right. The "red ring of doom" as I call it is a simple tube of fabric open on one end, sewed onto the dress using my sewing machine, then stuffed with polyfil. It tucks neatly into the open end, and stays put with no problem! The hair clips and collar (which are going to be remade, ugh) are vinyl over foam, and the neck injection point is made out of PaperClay. I made it myself, my fiance helped me putty/sand/prime it, and it's painted with a few layers of acrylic paint topped off with a clear coat sealer. I use a small strip of fashion tape to attach it to my neck, and usually I'd forget to take it off once I chance out of costume. lol
- Personal Thoughts:
- Anemone's one of those characters I knew I had to cosplay as the minute she was introduced, and I get to cosplay with Adora who is my adorable Eureka! I LOVE THIS COSTUME SO MUCH, but it needs some updating like a new wig (that doesn't have bangs, heh), remaking the hair clips and collar, and fixing the back part of the shoes so it's not so painful for me walk around. ;___; The ankle strap part loves digging into heels, I have the scars to prove it too...
Wig Details
- Wig Brand
- Fantasy Sheep
- Wig Name
- Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Bianchi
- Styling Time
- 5-10 minutes
- Wig Quality Rating
- 5 / 5.00
- Styling Notes
- The wig had some waves from being in the packaging, so all I did was smooth it out using my curling iron! The style is already perfect for Anemone because of the long bangs, so I'm glad I didn't have to cut the wig at all. XD
- Wig Review
- A truly beautiful wig with silky smooth fibers, and hardly tangles at all! I can easily shake the tangles out of the wig, or gently finger comb it and it's good to go!
