Construction Details:

The dress is made out of jersey. I sort of modified Butterick B4443 to do the top part of the dress. My bracelet is made out of painted foamies, and my earrings are made from chopped-up hoop earrings and random beads. The wig (which I adore) is a Tousled Beauty from Forever Young in 24BT102.

Personal Thoughts:

My work friends wanted to try their hand at cosplaying. We settled on Battlestar Galactica, because we all liked the series, their costume pieces were easy enough to buy, and I've wanted to make Six's red dress for a while. The dress was really beyond my meager skills, though. I had the wrong concept in mind for the bust when I was first starting out. I ended up having to put in darts that just look WRONG- or as my friend Katie says, "GIANT DART NIPPLES!" Sigh. I still like the costume, and I'm looking forward to wearing it at SDCC this year. My roommate is making a really sweet accessory for me.
