Construction Details:

This costume was the most challenging one I had made at the time, although the actual construction was not that difficult. I hand painted all of the designs, but looking back I wished I had taken more time to do so as there are too few in my opinion and the ones that are there are too small for what I wanted. It is made with various medium weight, low sheen satins with regular lining fabric. The most difficult thing was probably working with so much fabric. I bought close to 30 yards overall for the costume and used most of it.

Personal Thoughts:

I have wanted to cosplay Hinoto for a long time so I just kind of took the plunge and did it. This costume was surprisingly easy to make it's just that there was a lot of fabric to deal with. I would say there is close to 30 yards of fabric in that costume. Also my wig was kind of difficult as I had to add extensions to an existing wig, which I had never done before. Wearing this costume was a huge pain as I was severely restricted in movement.

Styling Notes

I used thin wire mesh to achieve the large loops and covered those with extensions. Those are then sewn and glued to the base wig. I wish I had a photo of the back of the wig as it is finished with a curled bun and I love the way it looks.
