Construction Details:

I have a weakness for magical girl shows, and I think W.i.t.c.h. is simply adorable. I love the girls' Guardian forms with the stained-glass-esque wings.

There are a couple things I'm not happy about with this costume. I hand-painted the tights so I could get the proper stripe width, and they turned out pretty blotchy. The fit of the shirt needs to be redone so it fits more closely around my torso. I made the skirt out of possible the worst fabric choice (crepe, which frays like no one's business). Also, regarding the skirt, I had to move the darts after putting in the heart-shaped navel cutout. I must not have positioned them right, because the skirt pulls from either side of the cutout. Oh well.

However, I am happy with the wings. And the cutout on the skirt did turn out well (plus it gave me a very amusing sunburn).
