About this Costume
Construction Details:
The vest is made of a fairly thick woven cotton. I didn't use a pattern for any portion of the costume. Both the shoulder and neck portions have green foam and attach to the main portion of the vest with snaps. The piping is plastic jump rope, since back then I didn't know piping was a thing. The silver buttons are upholstery buttons without a covering fabric strap and are held together with glue. The belt portion of the vest has a black tie to tighten and make it lay nicer, is filled with normal pillow stuffing, and has a small zippered pocket in the back on the inside. The chest pockets are just sewn rectangles with opening flaps, but the bottom of the straps are sewn down. The straps are dyed to match the vest color more.

The butt pouch was made from double layered muslin, kept its shape from a inside out Cheerios box, has snaps for closures, and safety pins to the inside of the vest.

The thigh pouch was made of double layered black cotton, had snap closures, had a cardboard box for structure that was painted black, and a black elastic band.

The shoes were made by my cousin and then I altered them to fit.

The shirt was bought at Kohl's and the pants from Old Navy. The wrappings were medical wrappings in 1" and 2".
Personal Thoughts:
For my first costume I'm pretty proud of it. I learned so much and created a lot of good memories.
